Ways that YOU can support!
If you or your organisation are looking for ways to support our community while also promoting health and wellness, supporting a local community rowing club like the Bermuda Pilot Gig Club is a great way to do just that!
Here are some ways you can get involved and make a difference with BPGC:
- Equipment Sponsorship: Rowing requires specialized equipment that can be costly to purchase and maintain. Sponsoring a piece of equipment, such as a gig, oars or safety gear, can help ensure that the club has the resources we need to continue providing access to the sport of rowing with quality equipment.
- Event Sponsorship: As a community rowing club, BPGC participates in many fundraising events that support other local charities. Look out for our members rowing the following annual events and support them if you can: Bermuda End-to-End and Zoom Around the Sound. In addition to supporting other events, BPGC hosts an international regatta every two years that requires funding to run successfully. Sponsorship of a rower and/or event is a great way to support the club and promote your brand at the same time by showcasing Bermuda’s philanthropic spirit and hospitality!
- Volunteer Your Time: BPGC is run by volunteers who are passionate about the sport and our community. Volunteering your time helps to share the workload and allows the club to focus on providing our members with the best possible experience. Plus, it's a great way to meet new people and get involved in the community. Reach out to a member of the board or a location captain to get involved!
- Spread the Word: Even if you’re short on extra time, spreading the word about pilot gig rowing helps to raise awareness and attract new members. Share our social media posts, invite friends to events, and talk to people in your circles about the positive impact rowing is having on you. Word of mouth is the best PR on our small island!
- Attend Events and Become a Member: If BPGC is hosting an event, attending it is a great way to show your support and have fun at the same time. Cheer on the rowers, meet new people, and learn more about the sport (and history) of rowing. Get involved, become a member, help ensure the long-term success of the club and its impact on the community.
